⌝ Aesthetic machine learning experiments in merging and cross pollinating datasets ⌞
Hybrid is a self-initiated, experimental project exploring new aesthetics with emerging technology. The goal was to create an unfamiliar familiarity, using GAN systems and machine learning; creating a technicolour hyperreality, by growing digital flowers, hybridising species in digital spaces without time and light.
In cross-pollinating datasets to create these unidentified floral objects, we ask questions about the future. What is the result when the similar rhythms of a bird’s feather and a flower’s petal merge? When opposing surfaces of rocks and flesh combine?
